SYNOPSIS

Thoroughbred racehorses live to be 25 or 30 years old even though their racing careers are over by their fifth year. Where do these powerful, majestic animals go after they’ve stopped racing? We travel thousands of miles to follow the inspirational and uncertain paths some of these horses take after the track. You’ll see firsthand how the connection made to a horse saved a military combat veteran suffering from severe PTSD… “I owe him my life.” You’ll hear from individuals serving hard time in prison how these horses helped to change their lifelong anger and trust issues. “The connection to man and horse is as old as civilization and will outlast all of us.” Off Track: Fate of a Racehorse brings you on a provocative, often wondrous journey with these soul-touching animals in the many years after the racetrack.
